Stress Management


Richard Lazarus defined stress as conditions in which “demands exceed the personal and social resources the individual is able to mobilize.”

Stress is an inherent part of life. Although not all stress is negative, learning to manage stress effectively can lead to greater enjoyment. Together, we will identify areas of your life which are causing you the most distress. You will learn a variety of strategies to address those situations or feelings which feel most “unmanageable.” We will also build on skills you already possess to maximize your sense of well-being. Everyone at times feels overwhelmed by stress, but those who manage it most effectively develop strong coping strategies to offset it.
